Human figure project - Kolesa

This piece is of a man swinging from a rope into an archway. There are runes on the edges to make it look more tomb-like, they are supposedly Roman symbols.

Proportion is a principle of design used in this piece, with making the body lightly twisted and having him almost pulling himself up the rope. Composition with this project is very straight forward the eye starts at him. It will then move either up or down to the stone and then the runes. Then the eye has made a full circle back to him.

I feel the story is he is trying to get into this small room only accessed by the cliff, maybe to do research and find ancient artifacts.

Strengths are I found a quicker way to make the rock texture in the cliff so I didn't spend all my time on that. Growth is definitely with the proportions and the face. Being able to actually make it look like what it is supposed to be.
